Welcome to 2023. This means we are, of course, all one year closer to death. And this is the place to celebrate that.
Admittedly, in 2022, I got a bit lazy with the substack. My big 2023 resolution (I don’t usually bother with these…as we know most don’t last but I think this is a good one) is to change that and become quite a bit more regular with the substack. Thus, I hope to have a more regular mix of fiction, perhaps with a few non-fiction essays, particularly as they related to death, dying and other things that chill the soul.
And the plan still is to culminate with the release of The Secrets of Grimoire Manor for paid subscribers. My plan here is to make it such that you could switch to paid subscription, read the book for no more it would cost from the bookstore, then switch back to unpaid. I’ll whet your appetite with a bit of free fiction and non-fiction first…then drop the first chapter on some dreadful day in history…perhaps the Ides of March? We’ll see.
In the meantime, nothing gets me energized about writing like knowing people will actually read what I wrote. So please do share this substack and encourage fans of good fiction everywhere to sign up and give it a free try.
Here’s a glass raised to you, dear reader, and the hopes that you’ll have a most ghoulish 2023…
